Often the easiest place to find learners is in the 'kling-ons' - the people who are at gigs and hanging around the band anyway.
Reach out to friends, family members and supporters and encourage them to join as a piper or drummer. Or better yet, ask them to tell their friends and family about it too. You’d be surprised who in the wider “six degrees of separation” in pipe bands is either already a player, or interested in learning.
